Lansdowne Friends School is the proud recipient of a scholarship from the “McKenzie Promising Futures Fund”. Leon McKenzie and his wife Joleen Matte, founders of the scholarship, flew from Florida to visit the School on October 30th, 2015. They presented the students with a very big check to fund the scholarship. Both Mr. McKenzie and Ms. Matte arduously fundraised for this scholarship. Sports Lending, the business that they own together, matched every gift.

Mr. McKenzie is an LFS alumnus. He attended the school from 1978 to 1984. He has fond memories of his time here and expressed his long-standing desire to “give back” to his beloved school.
