Applying to LFS

LFS welcomes inquiries and applications from eager and engaged learners, who are ready to thrive in our intimate, vertically integrated classrooms, whose families appreciate the value of a Quaker education. If that sounds like your family, we encourage you to take these next steps with us. The admission process begins in the fall before a student wishes to enter LFS.

  • The admission season for the 2025-2026 school year begins on October 14, 2024.
  • Applicants to PK must be either 3 or 4 years of age on/before September 1st.
  • Applicants to K must be 5 years of age on/before September 1st

Our Admission Journey

1. Attend an open house

These one hour, parent focused events are your chance to get to explore LFS, meet our teachers, see our campus and classes in session. We will gladly meet your children later on the admission journey, when they come for classroom visits and assessments.

2. Apply to LFS

Click here to complete our application in the fall before your child wishes to attend LFS. A $78 application fee is required.

3. (PK-1st grades)

Complete your admission assessment.  We will contact you to schedule a one-on-one developmental assessment of your child’s English Language Arts and Mathematics skills. Assessments take place after-school on our campus.

3. (Grades 2-6)

Make a classroom visit. We will contact you to schedule a two day classroom visit for your child. Applicants spend the day in their current grade level classroom, so that we can learn more about how they navigate both the academic and social curriculum at LFS.

4. Complete a family interview.

While your child is here for either a classroom visit or admission assessment, prospective families will talk with the admission team about their child, life at LFS and our admission journey.

5. Share your child’s report card(s) with LFS.

Bring your child’s most recent report card to the family interview, so that we can better understand what your child has learned and how they learn best. A teacher recommendation may also be requested as part of the admission process.

Admission Decision Timeline

Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis, until all classes are fully-enrolled.

First round admission decisions are made in late January. Families are encouraged to apply as early as possible in order to maximize financial aid opportunities at LFS.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required when offers of admission are accepted, to secure your child’s space for the following year.
